1. Radio Show Song List Week 13 (LAST SHOW) WTSR today was my last show yall.  i suddenly felt like i was going to miss it a lot, despite having to wake up so early for it, like i would like to keep doing it.  maybe i will do a live internet radio thing once a week, idk, its fun to do, i’ll miss it. the best part of doing it was how it evolved into something more than me just going into the studio and playing music and sitting alone for 2 hours and leaving.  i was actually looking forward to that in some ways when it all first started, seemed like, real relaxing, so im not saying that that would have sucked.  but, it turned into something much better i think, when Ben Brooks and Crispin Best chatted me during it and started giving me crazy things to say on air every week.  after several weeks of tuning in i think Ben got busy, because he disappeared, but Crispin still tuned in for some after that, and it kept going, because at that point there were a few others that had joined in on it.  basically, it turned into a sort of game, that any other listeners, besides any of you that read this or my tweets or were a part of the game in the first place, probably interpreted as me being really insane and weird, which added to the thrill of doing it thanks everyone for contributing funny things to say or for listening over the past semester. shout out to DJ Berndt who definitely became the top contributor/listener as the semester went on, his enthusiasm for it kept me enthused to do the show every week.  anyway, here’s what happened during today’s show: sang 1-2 verses and chorus of ‘hollaback girl’ (gwen stefani) a capella (via DJ Berndt, but also I really wanted to do this, lol) gave a short speech that went as follows: ‘it’s my last show, and i just want to thank all my influences: beetlejuice, donkey kong, President and Commander-in-Chief Obama, gwen stefani, and chad kroger’ (via DJ Berndt) went on air and sang lil bits of ‘cool’ (gwen stefani) while it was playing introduced a song by saying ‘this next track will take the fly out of your soup and put the onion in your funyun’ (via DJ Berndt) introduced a song by meow-ing and nothing else, about 4-5 meows (via Omar De Col) read something from the community calendar and it said to visit a url and the end of the url said ‘childfest’, because it was like a festival for kids or something, but like ‘childfest’, cmon right, sounds weird, so i stopped and said something like ‘childfest… that always sounds weird to say.. childfest.. whew’ talked about Steve Roggenbuck, said how he was on the radio last night somewhere on the west coast and kept saying ‘6666666666666’ and then i said ‘live my lief’ in steve’s voice (this was all to introduce a recording we have of a guy, who sounds just like steve, that i was about to play, it was like a plug for something) played Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It) (which is totally not something approved to be played by the station, too ~mainstream~, but it was my last show so who cares right), said ‘this one goes out to the fact that i dont have a boyfriend’ sang ‘Just a Girl’ for a few verses with the music turned down really low (DJ said he couldnt hear the music at all so basically i was just a capella again) thanks DJ, Omar, and Elaine for listening today, and anyone else who was maybe listening idk oh man what am i gna do every friday morning from 8-10am now (ha)

  2. damn i forgot to finish writing this last week, editing it now (4-27-12) i remember that i read some ‘dates that i would like to go on’ on air and then said ‘if those sound like something you would like to do, if you are interested in doing those things, you can call the studio, im here’ or something.  the two dates that i read were: I want you to kiss me, you don’t know that I want you to kiss me.  You offer me $100 to kiss me and I take the money and we kiss. We partially inflate one balloon using a helium tank that I have in my garage.  We inflate it enough for it to float gently when we hit it into the air, but not enough to keep it from falling back to the ground.  We spend three hours making sure the balloon does not touch the ground, jumping around, shouting ‘get it! get it!’ to each other, even diving some times, big ‘ohhhh!’s in excited support for any great ‘saves’ the other makes.  Every once in a while we inhale a little bit of helium and sing ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ by One Direction.  Not once do you say ‘thats too much helium, babe, that’s enough’, you know how I hate being babied.  At the end of the three hours you record me stabbing the balloon with a huge knife in a dramatic fashion. i dont remember if i did anything else.  i know that DJ Berndt was listening and gchatting me i know that nobody called the studio to follow up on those dates hm thats all i remember

Radio Show Song List Week 10 WTSR Today I gchatted with Susie Anderson, Crispin Best, and DJ Berndt while running my show.  I know that they were listening and that Jay Gabler was listening as well because he tweeted about it.  Jack Williams listened a little bit and tweeted about it a bit too.  Yesterday DJ said it would be good to talk during my show about how good peanut butter is, so: today became a truly important day for peanut butter on the radio.  I gave shouts out to peanut butter and talked about peanut butter a little bit, 9 separate times, throughout the two hours.  Here are more details: first just gave a shout out to peanut butter, a general shout out, said ‘this one goes out to peanut butter… because i like peanut butter’ gave another shout out and also said that peanut butter is good on bread gave another shout out and also said that peanut butter is good on banana gave another shout out and also said that peanut butter is good with chocolate talked about almond and cashew butter and said that peanut butter is the most common and i respect it for that confessed that i have never eaten pure spoonfuls of peanut butter and that i felt like i was lying to everyone if i didnt tell everyone that said ‘this one goes out to peanut butter, aka ‘peebs” (susie calls peanut butter ‘peebs’!!) said ‘i know yall want some peanut butter’ susie and i talked and decided that this needed to be said, so i said it: PBS should rebrand to Peanut Butter Station, people want to hear about peanut butter, and i said ‘i know that people want to hear about it because i’ve been talking about peanut butter all this time and you’re still listening’ said ‘we’re getting into deep V season and we’re also getting into peanut butter season… because every season is peanut butter season’ wow wow wait that is 10 times i talked about it.  i already tweeted and wrote on fb that it was 9 times, wow i jipped myself there, ok, yall got the inside scoop now, 10 times i also fucked up in the last hour, i only played 4 Highs, i went a song short, the peanut butter talk took up some time i guess, seems fine someone posted this on the WTSR Facebook Fan Page: Click here and it will open another page that shows the post on facebook, i dont know why i did this in this way, i cant get the picture to just go in here and i didnt want to add another photo to the set because i just wanted the little screenshot to be right here within the text part of the post, sorry, ok this link goes to a post from a listener Okay thanks for listening or chatting with me or reading this, shouts out to everyone, peanut butter is good, I wont be on the radio next Friday because I am going to Boston (If you live in any place that you can get to Boston to, you should come to a party at Elaine Sun’s on April 7th, talk to someone before you decide to do that though, let us know if you’re going to come, obviously, right, okay).  Julie Rossi will be covering next week’s show for me.  I’ll be on again the week after that, April 13th i feel very hungry
